Laguna Phuket’s Summer Family Festival Attractions Unveiled Free Soccer School, SNAG® Golf and Zumba Classes Head Array of Exciting Activities
A treasure trove of free activities for youngsters and parents is on offer at this year’s Laguna Phuket Summer Family Festival – including a top-class soccer school, fun kids’ golf lessons and dynamic Zumba fitness classes.
The resort’s Latitude marquee will be transformed into a carnival big top with zoned areas where activities will be staged during days and evenings of the Festival, which launches on Saturday 29 June with a fun “Skool’s Out” party and runs during July and August for Phuket residents, visitors and tourists alike.
Free soccer skills classes are available for both boys and girls aged four to 16 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 10.00am by Phuket Soccer Schools, (PSS) led by head coach Martin Hill, a professionally qualified coach with advanced qualifications from both the English Football Association (FA) and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
PSS also offers its individual one-on-one programme after each class at just THB 1,000 for 30 minutes and THB 1,500 for an hour -guaranteeing improvements in players’ techniques and understanding of the world’s most favourite game. Meanwhile, youngsters with a yen for golf can get hooked on the game with free SNAG® (Starting New At Golf) lessons at Latitude from 10.00am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
This exciting new golf teaching system – offered at Laguna Phuket for the first time in Thailand – is a fun and unique way to learn the details of the game for kids aged from four upwards, as well as adults.
SNAG® will be staged at Latitude by Laguna Phuket Golf Club’s AndyCombeGolfSchool. Youngsters and parents encouraged by the system can then take three-hour conventional golf lessons at the Club with PGA professional Andy on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons, at a special Summer Family Festival rate of just THB 2,000 per person.
And once again there’s fun-filled fitness sessions to a Brazilian beat in store on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Latitude with free Zumba classes for all ages led by popular Phuket Zumba, starting at 5.30pm.
Another popular return attraction at this year’s Festival will be the Kidz Fun Zone with Quest – Laguna Phuket’s corporate training and adventure facility – serving up afternoons of sports skills, cooking lessons, adventure and educational activities on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, for only THB 200 per child.
On the weekends of 5-6 July and 2-3 August, Kidz Fun Zone features overnight “CampQuests” for youngsters aged eight-15, with adventures including survival training, Quest’s famous outdoor activities and nighttime campfire parties, all for just THB 2,500 per child. And popular Australian art educator Christopher Hogan returns as the Festival’s Artist-in-Residence throughout August with his stimulating art classes for children and parents alike. Other Summer Family Festival attractions at Latitude include a bouncy castle, bungee trampoline, visits from a baby elephant, movie nights and a variety of fun and games, while parents can relax with Happy Hour drinks, food, music and entertainment.
Summer Family Festival hotel benefits extend across Laguna Phuket’s deluxe properties right through until 31October, when kids can stay and dine for free at hotels,*play golf for free at Laguna Phuket Golf Club with a full-paying adult and enjoy free tours on selected Laguna Tours excursions.

GIFT OF TECHNOLOGY HELPS LOCAL CHARITY RUN SMOOTHER The Kamala office of the Phuket has Been Good To Us Foundation was recently the site of yet another demonstration of corporate altruism when Pegas Touristik donated three brand new computers. “Pegas Touristik is one of our newest supporters who came on board after meeting with one of our wonderful volunteers,” said Tina Hall, Director of Operations. “The donation from Pegas of these brand new desktops will help us with productivity as we were previously losing so much precious time grappling with old technology,” said Hall.
The Foundation relies heavily on local contributions, both monetary and in-kind, to ensure that the English language programs delivered to more than 900 children in two local Thai government schools continue uninterrupted. The donation from Pegas, a travel company based in the Ukraine with offices in Central Festival, will streamline operations considerably.
Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation is a Thai registered charity, which aims to foster vocational opportunities for Thai children through English. English is taught to more than 900 children in two government schools in Phuket, including 150 orphans who reside at the school. The goal is to provide the best possible English language education by placing qualified, fluent English speaking teachers in classrooms. The programs help Thai youth become capable and confident English speakers so that they can secure well-paid employment.
