การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย อินฟอร์มา ยอชท์ กรุ๊ป ผู้จัดงานแสดงเรือนานาชาติภูเก็ต และสำนักงานส่งเสริมการจัดประชุมและนิทรรศการ (องค์การมหาชน) จัดงานแสดงเรือนานาชาติภูเก็ตครั้งที่ 8 (PIMEX 2011) ระหว่างวันที่ 6-9 มกราคม 2554 ณ รอยัล ภูเก็ต มารีน่า จังหวัดภูเก็ต โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมธุรกิจและการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลภูเก็ตและเอเชีย โดยใช้จังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นศูนย์กลางในการเปิดให้ทุกภาคฝ่ายในกลุ่มธุรกิจได้ประชาสัมพันธ์สินค้า และบริการสู่สายตาผู้ซื้อในตลาดระดับภูมิภาค และระดับโลก การแสดงเรือนานาชาติภูเก็ตนับได้ว่าเป็นงานแสดงเรือที่มีผู้ให้บริการรายใหญ่และจำนวนผู้เข้าร่วมงานจำนวนมากอย่างต่อเนื่องเป็นเวลาถึง 8 ปี ในรอบปีที่ผ่านมาการแสดงเรือนานาชาติ ได้ช่วยสร้างรายได้สู่ธุรกิจและการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลมากกว่า 8 พันล้านบาท นาย แอนดี้ ดาวเดน (Mr. Andy Dowden) ผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายการจัดงานแสดงเรือนานาชาติ กล่าวว่า การจัดงานแสดงเรือนานาชาติถือได้ว่าเป็นการจัดงานที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในภูมิภาคเอเชียและประสบความสำเร็จในการจัดงานอย่างต่อเนื่องมาเป็นปีที่ 8 คาดว่าจะสามารถดึงดูดรายได้จากทั่วทั้งภูมิภาคเข้าสู่อุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวและธุรกิจการเดินทางทางทะเลของภูเก็ตได้ปีละประมาณ 8 พันล้านบาท ภายในงานมีบริษัทที่เข้าร่วมแสดงสินค้าและบริการจำนวน 85 บริษัท และมีการแสดงเรือบนผืนน้ำจำนวน 34 ลำ ขนาดความยาวตั้งแต่ 20 ฟุต ไปจนถึงกว่า 100 ฟุต รวมถึงเรือสำหรับการออกทะเลกลางวัน เรือนำเที่ยวแบบหรูและเรือยอร์ชแบบมีเครื่องยนต์และไม่มีเครื่องยนต์พร้อมๆ กับการแสดงรถยนต์แบรนด์หรูอย่างจากัวร์ เล็กซัส และ แลนด์โรเวอร์ งานนี้คาดว่าจะสามารถดึงดูดความสนใจผู้เข้าชมในวงกว้างจากหลายประเทศ อาทิ ออสเตรเลีย สิงคโปร์ กัวลาลัมเปอร์ มะนิลา จาการ์ต้า อินเดีย และฮ่องกง ทั้งนี้งานเปิดให้ผู้ชมทั่วไปเข้าชมโดยไม่เสียค่าใช้จ่าย ตั้งแต่วันที่ 6-9 มกราคม 2554 ตั้งแต่เวลา 11.00-20.00 น. นางบังอรรัตน์ ชินะประยูร ผู้อำนวยการ ททท.สำนักงานภูเก็ต กล่าวว่า การเดินทางท่องเที่ยวเรือยอร์ชมีแนวโน้มเติบโตสูง การจัดงานในครั้งนี้เป็นโอกาสที่ดีที่ภูเก็ตได้แสดงถึงความพร้อมในการเป็นศูนย์กลางการท่องเที่ยวทางทะเลของภูมิภาคเอเชียและมีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกในการรองรับที่ได้มาตรฐานสากล และสามารถขยายการท่องเที่ยวสู่กลุ่มที่มีการใช้จ่ายสูงและเกิดการกระจายรายได้ไปยังธุรกิจที่เกี่ยวข้องจำนวนมาก |

IT’S DRAMA TIME IN PHUKET!
Interactive Drama Programme at Phuket International Academy Sports & Leisure Club Kids Camp in August
Phuket, Thailand – Phuket’s highly experienced freelance drama teacher, Denise Bertrand, is at it again. After producing, directing and writing 8 children’s productions with over 40 children performing in the past 6 months she will be offering her unique style of teaching drama at a week long drama programme at the Phuket International Academy Sports & Leisure Club (PIASLC). The sessions run from 9 – 13 August, and are part of the Sports, Arts and Adventure Kids Camps being run by the PIASLC. With over 25 years experience, Denise Bertrand is a child-centered teacher and has a gift of bringing out each child’s unique expressive arts talent. This programme is for students at every level of drama experience. Through a variety of drama games, exercises, skills, speech work, and storytelling the students find they really understand what it takes to be on a Drama Team. There are children who love to explore drama expression, just like there are children who love to learn a sport. They learn it takes commitment, creativity, courage and enthusiasm to be on a Drama Team. Denise invites all children living in Phuket to come and express themselves this August. PIASLC’s second week of Kid’s Camps, which include the drama programme, run from 9 – 13 August for kids aged 6 – 14 years old. Costs for the camps start at THB 500 per half day with a full day option which includes a healthy lunch. The Adventure Weekend camp costs THB2,500 which includes accommodation and all meals.
